What is the Heydar Aliyev International Education Grant?

The Heydar Aliyev International Education Grant covers full-time programs at different academic levels:
1.Bachelor’s Degree – 4 to 5 years
2.General Medicine – 5 to 6 years
3.Master’s Degree – 1.5 to 2 years
4.Medical Residency – 2 to 5 years
5.PhD (Doctoral) Degree – 3 years
6.Preparatory Courses – 6 months to 1 year

Scholarship Benefits (Fully Funded Package)
This fully funded scholarship in Azerbaijan provides comprehensive financial support. Selected students receive.
1. Full Tuition Fees
The scholarship covers tuition fees for the entire study period. It also includes language preparatory courses if required.
2. International Flight Tickets
Students receive:
i.One economy class ticket to Baku
ii.One return ticket to their home country each year
3. Monthly Stipend
Each student receives 800 AZN (approx. 470 USD) per month for:
i.Accommodation
ii.Living expenses
iii.Study materials
The allowance is paid for 10 months per year.
4. Medical Insurance
The scholarship includes:
i.Single-entry visa
ii.Temporary residence permit for each academic year

Eligible Countries
Applicants must come from eligible countries, including:
i.Member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation
ii.Member states of the Non-Aligned Movement

However, citizens of Azerbaijan are not eligible.
Age Requirements
Applicants must meet the following age criteria (as of 15 September 2026):
i.Undergraduate & General Medicine: Below 35 years
ii.Master’s & Residency: Below 40 years
iii.PhD: Below 45 years

Language Requirements
Applicants must prove proficiency in the language of instruction:
1.English
IELTS 5.0 (Undergraduate)
IELTS 5.5 (Postgraduate)
TOEFL equivalent accepted
2.Russian, Turkish, or Azerbaijani:Proof of proficiency required.
In addition, the previous degree language may serve as proof.
